Salt City Fly Fishing is a guide service based out of Syracuse, NY and the Central part of New York state. Our focus is on the passion, education and love we have for sharing the sport of fly fishing with others. Whether you are a beginner or seasoned angler, our guided fly fishing trips are tailored to meet your specific goals. We offer Full Day Float Float Trips as well as Half Day & Full Day Wade Trips.
We have spent countless hours exploring the many rivers, streams and creeks of Central and Upstate New York learning effective techniques, entomology and appreciating their natural beauty. New York State offers one of the most diverse freshwater fly fishing experiences and we can’t wait to share it with you. Salt City Fly Fishing is dedicated to the sustainability of our fisheries and responsible use of our natural resources. We only practice catch & release, and will educate you on proper fish handling techniques to ensure we minimize the stress levels on fish.
about me
My name is Matt Borovy and I am the owner / head guide of Salt City Fly Fishing. Originally from Northwest Connecticut, I grew up fishing on the Farmington River where I honed my skills as a technical fly fisherman. I have spent the last 8 years living in Syracuse, NY and exploring the different waterways that run through New York State. I have vast experience in fishing & navigating many rivers in the CNY area on both boat and foot. I am a passionate angler with a love for fly fishing, fly tying and sharing epic experiences on the water with others. I hold a degree in Natural Resources Management from SUNY ESF and love helping protect the resources that give so much back to us. I look forward to fishing with you!
